Nokia FastMile 5G Home Gateway is a 3GPP-compliant 5G New Radio (NR) router that offers gigabit speeds on 4G and 5G technology. FastMile 5G Gateway delivers 10-25x the speeds of LTE to residential and business subscribers . It uses sub-6 GHz 5G spectrum, so will still have half-decent range. It’s being described as ‘plug-and-play’, which is geek-talk for ‘easy to set up’ and seems like a fairly inoffensive bit of industrial design. We don’t know what its costs though.
The Nokia 5G router, offering wifi access to the 5G network, is an excellent alternative to homes and offices without a fast fiber connection. The FastMile 5G gateway is simple to install and uses a visual guide to help customers identify the right location with the best performance.
